Having read Edge's thoughts, and OXM reaffirming what they've already said, i can really see this game hitting the 9s upon release.

I don't see it hitting 9s. I thing it'll fall apart under it's own weight. Nice ideas, but some sloppy execution. It's not far off from release, but issues are generally noticed by all that have played it/seen it played.

Early previews had talked about issues, but recently the tide has turned and hands on previews with the game have been massively complimentary, some either suggesting there's a lot more to the game than the glorified tech demo it was looking like at some stage.

This game wasn't too interesting for me .... until today, when I saw the Gamer.tv special on Bravo. After watching that im extremely interested in seeing what sort of ratings/reviews this gets.

Off to watch any footage i can find of it on the net now.

Not coming out till end of june now but just to see how good the 360/ps3 version looks....

Are they not the best list of achievements ever? It really requires you to experiment with the game. I'm very much looking forward to this. Might preorder the special edition, even.

There's a lengthy trailer showing lots of gameplay footage on this month's OXM disc but sadly it's not looking quite as impressive as those tech demos suggested, in fact it looks quite shoddy in places, especially the clumsy looking vehicle sections. I remember playing Alone in the Dark on the Dreamcast and that wasn't too hot so I've been hoping this new game would be so much better. Looks like it may be a good game in the 70-80% range rather than a classic and perhaps not as ground-breaking as we were lead to believe. Still mildly excited about it though and have the special edition pre-ordered although I'll cancel it if the game doesn't live up to expectations.

Anyone actually know how this is gonna play? Is it more a Third-Person Shooter than a Puzzler?

I'm hoping for something like Silent Hill but is this gonna turn out to be more of a Resident Evil?

Not quite sure which trailer Darren is watching on the OXM disc...my trailer only has a combined total of about 5 seconds of driving, and i'm sure barely two seconds of that featured anything other than a car driving in a straight line!

And didn't you like TD:U anyway Darren? It's the same engine so there's no reason it should suddenly become clumsy?

Trailer looks great, nice to see some environments other than the damp corridors that the tech demos were based around!

Still not sure i like the switching to first person for shooting, but i'm sure i'll get used to it!

It definitely looks interesting. I've been anticipating its release since first announcement but I'm getting tired of these 'real-world-rules' videos. Yeesh! So you've got great physical interaction going on, good for you!

haha it's only been three tech demos! I quite liked the idea behind them, better than a cut-scene dominated trailer, or the sort of gameplay trailer that can ruin the odd surprise or two when you're playing the game!
