I think a flight sim would be a really good use of Kinect and a controller, imagine looking around the cockpit by just moving your head or using the interactivity to push virtual buttons in a perfectly realised representation of a F-22's flight controls, very cool.

It would definitely work but only if you could use a pad as well.

But wouldn't that result in you looking away from the screen at exactly the moment you want to be looking?

Fair enough but I guess it depends how far you are away from the screen and how much head movement would be neccessary. I find it hard to believe that most people who consider themselves "gamers" would not have at least a 32 inch HDTV which would be ample to look around and still keep an eye on the action.

A Flight sim for the kinect is EASY people , think about it , when you were a kid pretending to be a plane!
Running around the playground with your arms out , when did you ever stop and think I need a controller , never!!! mmmmmnnnnnnnnnnooooowwwwwwmmmmmmmm! all they need to do is change the campaign mode , rather than having some random terrorist as the enemy , you could have billy on the climbing frame.

I find it hard to believe that someone could be so arrogant to assume what size a tv a gamer should have , much less afford.

I consider myself a gamer , I also consider myself a husband and home owner.

My apologies I guess assumption is the mother of all f*ck ups...

All I meant was if someone bought a next gen console and plays it a lot there is a good chance they also bought a HD enabled TV to enjoy their purchase with full functionality (improved graphics/sound etc). The most common size of said TV is around the 28 - 32 inch mark in my experience and a budget 32 inch HD Ready TV can be really cheap (£150 - £200). This is where my reasoning came from, I was not being a TV snob!

Its an good question actually, I would be interested to find out the percentage of people using CRT's compared to HDTV's.

I know you don't mean offence which is why I didn't curse you with a horrible illness like some may have done. (looking at you Tez)

I was probably a little harsh with my comments also. Guess I just pine for a massive tv sometimes and read an insult where there isn't one after a few beers!

No harm done eh!

I did have a CRT until about a year ago when it went bang. I bought a second hand flat screen on the cheap and am much happier, but it is only a small 26" rather then a massive 32"+. My girlfriend hung out for even longer, and only upgraded about 4 months ago as she was getting fed up not being able to read increasingly small text on games. She did splash out and bought a massive 36 inch screen brand new...no I'm not at all jealous Crying or Very sad
