Sleeping dogs have shown that an open world brawler can work well, but a SoR game would lose something in translation. Like Sega have done with Sonic 4, SoR should stick with its side scrolling roots. By all means improve the visuals and sound, add voices, branching storylines, XP and character progression and a whole slew of combat moves, but keep it side scrolling and the game will be a winner. An open world SoR game would lose some of the crispness that makes the previous games so good.
