Made my girlfiriend watch the 2nd and tell me, without spoilers, if it looked good. Apparently it did!) and news articles (though that is not easy). I still know things I wish I didn't, like 3 protagonists etc. and I know it's a bit sad but GTA is the one game that makes me feel like a kid at christmas, I think I know what I'm getting but don't want to find out all about it until I've got it in my hands... it makes having it so much better.
Valve could learn a lesson from this by saying "Yes we are working of Half Life 3. It IS going to be awesome. But we are not going to tell you anything. Whatsoever. Be patient. Trust us. It will be worth it."
You haven't seen the second trailer? Jesus you have some self control! The song is:Stevie Wonder - Skeletons
if that persuades you, whited out incase you don't want to know.
I've seen both and peruse the newswire for yellowyorange boxes like a tool, I don't read anything on it I just like to see how big it is and get myself excited more - I know nothing of Bioshock infinite out on tuesday, except the names of Booker and Liz, what they look like and that it's set in the sky. It definitely adds to enjoyment the discovery of stuff - it's a shame we get so much information on stuff, it's hard to resist looking and you know 90% of what it will be like - boring.
Valve have said they're working on HL3, but they call it ricochet 2 I believe, the BBC asked Gary Newell and he avoided it and said '...and with ricochet 2 blah blah I'm a big tease'. They said it's taking so long because they want to go somewhere that will make as big an impact as HL2 did off HL1 and they don't know what that is. Might be the same interview.
It's all in the game...
