They seem to be putting a lot of eggs in the "everyone is going to ditch their satellite/cable box and bru-ray player for a XB1.
Well my Skybox has a TB HDD and that is 70% full and as I don't even know if the XB1 can record TV (I know there is a gaming PVR) let alone actually accommodate a dish feed and Sky viewing card the fact that the HDD in the XB1 is half the size of the one in my skybox, means it won't be my primary source of TV viewing.
My Blu-Ray player plays Blu-Rays & DVDs and is region free on both technologies, I doubt that the XB1 will be able to do the same so it won't be my primary source of disc based movie viewing either.
I understand that they want a device that is all things to all people but they don't appear to have covered all the scenarios. Apart from anything else how is the XB1 going to turn my TV on when I don't leave my TV on standby because the government says that's what killing all the baby polar bears
I want, as it seems a lot of people do, a next gen gaming machine and what they have shown me is a device that does nothing I need, especially if my 360 is going to be "vibrant" for the next 5 years. I'll continue to wait for the cataclysmically slow drip feed of info until E3 when hopefully MS will be able to get me as excited as they did when the 360 was announced but for now it's very much a damp squib.
