If I remember correctly, Cunning mentioned that the DLC added to the game, whereby you play the game through the eyes of a different protagonist. This game has so much more to offer I reckon.
I actually just finished the DLC yesterday (first play through, Low Chaos) One of the best add ons I've played, and thoroughly recommend it to any fans of the main game who haven't tried it. You get to play as the assassin Daud, and go through a personal quest he embarks on between the assassination of the Empress and Corvo's showdown with him in the main game. If they'd released it as a sequel I wouldn't be complaining.
