Have to say i find this review spot on.
As someone who buys Fifa every year, mainly for Career Mode,i still always download each years PES in the hope it rediscovers the magic i felt when the very first one came out on the N64,as even the second one that came out on N64 was a letdown for me,it was like they'd took air out the ball.
This years PES,i have to say,i was pleasently surprised with an totally agree, the FOX engine makes a difference an the players animations are more FIFA like. I actually found myself playing the PES demo more than the FIFA one, which i now know from the FIFA review,is probably down to the slightly different gameplay, which i'll have to acclimatise to.
Although the review says that the mechanics of making the crowd a 12th man don't work as well as they'd like,i totally understand where they are coming from in trying it. You only have to look at some of there trailers, which are based on smaller teams beating bigger ones in the champions league, giant killers, and a lot of those teams successes are down to fantastic backing from there own support. So although it may not work alltogether,i think they have to be commended in that they have the right ideas an are heading in a better direction.
The lack of options will always let it down if someone is only buying one football game, but as i get FIFA free with my One,i can actually see me getting this, just for the odd Champions League romp here and there.
