Next OXM cover disc will carry NXE update

There's something slightly ironic about a website suggesting anyone without an internet connection can still receive content previously only available online. Yes, I realise people without could have friends with it, or have it at work! But it made me smile.

Its definitely ironic - but definitely also handy to know...

Personally - i only come on here during work hours - dont have an internet connection at home - and as such dont have xbox live either...

Thankfully i do however know a number of people who live near me and let me take my console round their place on occasion.

But you'd be surprised how many people havent got the update yet due to lack of internet connection...

Thats actually quite good for me, where I live I can't get fixed line broadband so i'll probably pick up the mag to get NXE.

Does the new dashboard not come with any games bought since the update? I guess some people may not have bought any new games...

I wouldn't have thought the NXE to be much of a milestone for those without XL...
Still, it's got to have a entry to those gamers someway or another.

i aint on xbox live and think the ability toinstall games to the hard drive is a godsend!!

Its quieter, loads faster, and the graphics look actually smoother!! (on Too human, SR2, Smackdown vs Raw09, Mass Effect to name a few)

But other then that - avatars? bah.

Personally I think this is silly as there is only one menu on the NXE that does not use live. So giving the download to people with live makes sense. Lets face it avatars are pretty useless if you can't show them off via live, not to mention the fact people are gonna get seriously depressed when they see the 5 menus they can't access without live. This is a download for people with live, not for people without.

P.S. if you don't have live and are buying the magazine purely for the update don't bother save the money and buy an internet connection, it's cheaper (sort of) and anyway this is the 21st century people. The digital age. Savvy?
