Rather ironic the lead animator has said anything as the animation in WAW was dreadful. In Modern Warfare the soliders looked like they'd benefitted in some motion capture. In WAW they looked decidedly computery in movement. Don't believe me, check out both games one after the other, and watch the soliders move in each.
What I want to see in Call of Duty 7 is... another game developer get an opportunity to work on the series. Sorry, Treyarch, but your games are the most unejoyable shooters for me. I think their games are lazy and lack the quality from other studios. The lack of originality in the past and now the use of riding off the success of others certainly show me it's time for the series to be left in the hands of others. In an industry losing so many companies and jobs this is one studio that had it not ridden on the brand of Call of Duty I'm certain would exist today.
In short, I don't care where this game's set, or what features it has. I've wasted enough money finding out how disappointing the Call of Duty games can be when in the hands of Treyarch. |

Call Of Duty 7: Back To The Drawing Board would be a good, and hopefully apt, name for Treyarch next effort.
...By then it will probably be out on the Xbox 720. |

treyarch arnt rubbish its just the game was fairly similar wen online is concerned 2 cod 4 which isnt a bad thing but if they were to include new game modes (i mite get carried away here) like a hostage situation or maps that include stormy weather conditions or completely dark maps so u have 2 use torches to find enemys also there shud be a bigger gap between cod games but more dlc on each. This wud give devs more time to make a much more quality game including the single player. Most importantly however it must be modern rather than ww2. |

Gearsofwar2, what are you talking about? Modern Warfare 2's old news now. Keep up. Next week we'll be discussing the possible issues and gametypes on Modern Warfare 3! You know it's coming to a store (assuming that doesn't go under in this current economic hell-hole) near you soon! Anyone got any thoughts on Bioshock 3? |

Well this is hardly surprising. it took them 3 years to make WaW and thats with borrowing Infinity Wards game engine and multiplayer suite. |

Only if CoD7 has a 4 year development cycle.

Modern warfare 2 no longer bares the Call of Duty title.
And if this is to be called CoD7 then it finally takes the correct title, as it will be the seventh Call of Duty. |

I have always wanted to see a Call of Duty in the First World War, there may be a "squish the rat" minigame, The war at sea, the War in the air, the Somme, Passchendale, Gallipoli, huge All Quiet on the Western Front-style battles. Your arsenal of weapons would be things like, lee-enfield rifles, early grenades, early tanks, bayonets, turret-mounted machine guns, those logs with lots of nails in them, knives, hammers, and spades for the hand-to-hand combat in the trenches.
I am obviously a keen Historian and can see the obvious call of duty potential in the massacre, but all of the people whom i have forwarded this idea to have said that "it's stoopid cos like when you stand up you instantly die, innit" But still, I want to hear your opinions. |

A game like Call of Duty really couldn't work in WW1. A game like that is really focused on action, like most games and WW1 was very much about shelling the crap out of your enemies and then moving forward unopposed to take up their old positions. Of course, it never quite worked like that, but there was such little focus on the men on the front lines that it would not be exciting enough to make into a game. At least not if historical accuracy is something you consider.
As for the war at sea, there really wasn't one. Apart from German U-boats attacking merchant ships (which a "keen historian" like yourself would know caused the USA to enter the war)the only real conflict was a battle whose name I forget in the north sea in 1917 I believe where the British practically destroyed the German navy.
And the war in the air really only involved two opposed aircraft confronting each other while on reconnaissance. From a gaming point of view it's not feasible.
Tanks entered service for the allies in 1917 and were used mainly to clear wire and to provide cover and a distraction for infantry. Their guns enjoyed only a tiny field of fire and the tanks often found themselves bogged down in mud, kicked up by the relentless artillery fire, worsened by the fact that this shelling had broken the water table.
So from a purely historical point of view, WW1 cannot be made into an exciting video game. |

I would like to see Treyarch abandon it and give it to Infinity Ward.
I don't know how they could have possibly made WaW that bad.

In case you weren't aware, IW have abandoned and left the franchise to Treyarch, creating their own: Modern Warfare |
